Silver and gold earrings with marcasites and emerald zirconia, part of the Marcasites Collection.

Marcasite jewels became popular in Portugal in the early 20th century as silver replicas of traditional pieces of Portuguese jewelry from the 18th century, which were made of gold and diamonds. The name Marcasite comes from the natural gem in these jewels.

Silver 925‰ latch back earring with 1.5cm and 4.8gr. Details in 9Kt gold with 0.4gr. Handmade in Portugal.

Very pretty earrings but the post that goes into the piercing hole is quite wide and a weird shape which is painful to insert. So I don't think they'll be worn much, which is a shame.
