Warranty

Every Portugal Jewels piece is covered by a three-year warranty from the date of the invoice. It reflects the confidence we place in our materials and in the hands that craft each piece.

What the warranty covers

Throughout the three years, all repair and maintenance work is carried out free of charge at our workshops in the North of Portugal. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and damage to the piece, and our artisans restore it at no cost to you.

What you pay

When What you pay
Within the first 30 days Costs are covered by Portugal Jewels
After 30 days, within three years Shipping costs are charged to the customer

It is worth being precise about this fee: it is not a charge for the repair, which remains free. It covers solely the cost of transporting your piece to our workshops in the North of Portugal and returning it to you.

Repairs generally take two to eight weeks from the moment your piece reaches the workshops.

What the warranty does not cover

The warranty does not extend to:

  • Fading or discoloration caused by light, perfume, cosmetics or other chemicals
  • The natural tarnishing of silver over time, which is normal and not a defect (we are glad to restore it, as explained in Why silver darkens, and how to care for your jewelry)
  • Damage resulting from repairs attempted by the customer or by third parties
  • Pieces showing clear signs of misuse or careless handling

In accordance with point 7 of our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to assess any piece that shows clear signs of misuse. Caring for your jewelry as described in our care articles keeps it within the terms of the warranty.

Making a claim

Please contact us and describe what has happened to your piece. We will confirm what applies to your order and send you the instructions for returning it to our facilities.
